Murphy Wall Beds

If you’re here, you’ve decided that you want a Murphy Bed.

Good start. Because we believe that an informed customer is a better customer, we offer a little easily digestible information so you can say you’ve done your homework.

There are basically three different types of Murphy style beds.

Panel beds are the most popular and functional, most effectively utilize floor space, are easier to install or relocate and attach to the wall, instead of the floor. Panel beds are enclosed in an attractive cabinet, protrude from the wall only 16” and allow you to add on other functional options such as matching wall cabinets, a home office, entertainment unit, etc.

Regin offers only the genuine Murphy Bed panel bed system with heavy duty spring loaded mechanism.

The other two types are Bi-fold beds (the type installed in a closet) and piston systems (unsightly and prone to failure). We don’t sell or recommend either of these systems but offer them only as a part of our Murphy Beds 101 What Not To Buy lesson.

All of the Murphy Bed’s on these pages are vertical tilt, as shown in the photos. You can also purchase horizontal tilt beds if that better suits your space needs. Murphy Beds are easy to assemble and require no special tools. Good, clear, step by step illustrated instructions are included with every order. If you should run into trouble, there’s someone at the other end of an 800 number who has done this before who will be happy to help you resolve your problem.

Orders are generally shipped within 24 business hours except orders placed late in the day or on a weekend. In this case, they are generally shipped the next business day.

Murphy Beds have been tested to over 2000 pounds so there is virtually no weight limit that a human or two would approach.

You can use any mattress up to 11” thick. It is recommended that the mattress be on hand to properly balance the operation of the Murphy Bed.

A box spring is not used with a Murphy Bed. Just place the mattress of your choice (not to exceed 11” thick) on the built-in foundation.

There are Velcro straps provided to hold the bedding, pillows and mattress in place when the bed is in the up position.

Pulling the bed down is so easy you can literally do it with one finger. Murphy Bed’s spring loaded mechanisms makes opening and closing the bed effortless.

When the bed is down, the legs curve in to point under the bed to make it harder to stub your toe (see photo of the leg system). You can purchase the optional, extended leg which raises the bed an additional 2 ⅜” off the floor. This option allows the use of a 13” tall mattress.
